Karen is a communications professional with experience living and working in Central America. She specializes in writing speeches and articles for CEOs of large companies and managing their social media. She has visited Sueños in Antigua and was impressed by the dedication of the staff and the impact of its work.

Amy Cohen
President
Amy spent twenty years as a social studies teacher, most consistently teaching seventh grade World Geography — where she had Katie Korsyn as one of her students. She currently serves as Director of Education at History Making Productions, a documentary film company.
Board members
Sunny works at a technology company in New York City focused on expanding access to accurate information across industries. As a student at the University of Pennsylvania, she served as president of CityStep, connecting college students and elementary children through dance mentorship. She has also volunteered with Sueños in Guatemala.
Kiara is a creative peacebuilder and facilitator currently working as an Events Coordinator at The ImPact, a global nonprofit supporting socially conscious investments. She connected with Sueños in 2017 as an intern and has since supported fundraising, program development, and communications — including time spent in Guatemala.
Juliana works in sustainability at Nike, focusing on circular waste solutions. She previously spent five years in the nonprofit sector in program management and fundraising for youth development and education organizations. She holds an MBA from Duke University and a BS in Public Health from The George Washington University.
Diane has dedicated her career to education as a teacher, administrator, curriculum writer, and teacher trainer across several countries in Latin America — including Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, and Ecuador. She most recently served as General Director of an international school in Antigua Guatemala before joining Sueños.
Katie arrived in Guatemala in 2013 with a degree in International Development from The George Washington University. She began working with families in Antigua's central park, building relationships that led to the creation of Sueños. She has experience teaching preschool and elementary education and specializes in pedagogical coaching.
